The Battle of Sfax

April 3, 2003, at Eudemonia game store

US forces entered the area around Sfax from the west, preceded by air strikes from P38 Lightnings and B26 Marauders.  The Italian force holding Sfax sustained moderate casualties during these airstrikes, and soon spotted a regiment of US armored infantry pouring into the area.

Although encouraged to hold on by the Axis high command, the Italian Blackshirt Cohort made a quick decision to exit the area back to the ports and beaches and onto awaiting vessels.

The area of Sfax is now under Allied control.

Elsewhere, British Hurricanes found a German small German convoy in the Bejda area.  There were unconfirmed reports of German losses as they continued their movement.

Another German convey was found in Djetna. This unit was reported to be much larger and towing guns.  Pilot reports and gun cameras confirmed several trucks and weapons were destroyed.  This unit, although delayed by the airstrikes, kept moving west.

US bombers attack a small bridge; they manage to wipe out an Italian motorcycle recon platoon by sheer luck.

As the US armored infantry floods onto the board, Italian morale becomes justifiably shaky. The battle was called soon after they appeared.
